Jack Grealish praised Callum Wilson after the West Ham striker bagged a brace in Saturday’s draw with Bournemouth.

West Ham drew 2-2 with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, with the former England international’s goals placing Nuno Espirito Santo‘s team in a commanding position going into the break.

Changes on either side saw the tide turn, however, with goals from Marcus Tavernier and Enes Unal seeing the scores end level.

Wilson made Premier League history against Bournemouth by scoring two goals in the first half without completing a single pass.

Hammers legend Tony Cottee hailed Wilson for his goals against Bournemouth, with the 33-year-old seemingly having won the London Stadium faithful over.

West Ham were linked with a move for Grealish in the summer, but the winger would ultimately move to Everton instead.

And since making the move, the England international has been in exceptional form. The 30-year-old has scored a goal and provided four assists in his 12 Premier League appearances, in what has been a transformational signing for the Toffees.

Decision-makers at the London Stadium may have some regrets about not pushing the boat out to sign Grealish, especially after Crysencio Summerville was absent from the squad on Saturday.

The winger has been in impressive form of late, and the Hammers will hope the Dutchman is not a long-term absence.

Following Saturday’s game, Wilson took to Instagram and said: “A point on the road. Thank you to both sets of fans for the reception, much appreciated! Safe travels home Hammers”.

Grealish responded with clapping emojis, along with the likes of Tino Livramento and Sven Botman.

Could Wilson do the unthinkable?

Speaking after West Ham beat Burnley before the international break, Wilson mooted a shock ambition for the season.

“There’s a World Cup around the corner, of course, I’ve had my eye on that from the pre-season,” the striker told talkSPORT. “So I’m working hard towards it.”

The 33-year-old’s chances appear slim, but with three goals in his last two appearances, and four for the season, that possibility appears to be growing by the week.

Should Wilson finish the season with more goals than Thomas Tuchel‘s current second striker behind Harry Kane, Ollie Watkins, the German could be handed a very interesting decision to make.
