Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen found comfort in a proud moment just days after a big defeat. Quite frankly, he needed it as his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, stood by his side throughout the celebration.

When the broadcast camera panned towards the couple, Allen seemed genuinely happy in Wyoming on Saturday. However, he was more involved with Steinfeld than with his jersey retirement ceremony.

Allen became the first football player in University of Wyoming history to have his jersey retired.
He wore number 17 during his three years with the Cowboys from 2015 to 2017. The ceremony took place during halftime of Wyoming’s game against Nevada on Saturday, November 22.
The quarterback addressed War Memorial Stadium with emotion in his voice. He thanked coaches Craig Bohl and Brent Vigen for believing in him when few others did. Allen credited Wyoming fans for their support throughout his college career.
He set multiple records during his time at Wyoming. His single-season passing efficiency of 127.78 remains the highest in school history, and he led the team to back-to-back eight-win seasons.
On game day, the 29-year-old kept his outfit casual in a gray sweatshirt and a white-and-brown hat. His A-list wife sported a brown and gold letterman jacket in Wyoming’s colors, paired with jeans, gold earrings, and a matching cap.

The couple was spotted tapping their caps together and sharing a constant grin during the game from VIP stands. The signal-caller’s smile stretched wider than it had in weeks. He actually looked relaxed and present in a way he rarely does at Bills games.
Just days earlier, Allen had a rough Thursday Night Football game against Houston. The Texans beat Buffalo 23-19, sacking Allen eight times and forcing two interceptions. He completed 24 of 34 passes for 253 yards but didn’t throw a touchdown.
After that loss, Allen looked dejected on the sideline, his usual energy noticeably low. The pressure of keeping Buffalo’s playoff hopes alive weighed on him. In Wyoming, though, surrounded by memories and Steinfeld’s support, he seemed pretty burden-free sitting beside Steinfeld.
Steinfeld’s Presence Brings Different Energy to Allen’s Public Appearances
The actress has been a constant presence at Bills games this season. She told Variety she’s taking a break from projects to support her husband during football season. Steinfeld said she hunkers down during this time of year to live life with Allen.
Allen spoke about his wife in a June interview. He said marrying his best friend was the most important decision of his life. The quarterback also called ESPN in October Steinfeld a rockstar in her work and as a person, adding that “everything I need in my life.”
The A-lister beamed with pride during the ceremony. She clapped enthusiastically when Wyoming unveiled Allen’s retired jersey. The couple shared private moments throughout the day that cameras caught.
Wyoming lost to Nevada 13-7 on Allen’s special day. However, the result didn’t dampen the significance of the jersey retirement ceremony.
The Bills currently sit at 7-4 and trail New England in the AFC East standings. Allen found a moment to celebrate his college legacy while his NFL team faces mounting pressure. His next challenge comes against Pittsburgh on November 30.
