Micah Parsons Reaches Huge NFL Milestone During Packers-Vikings

The Green Bay Packers entered Week 12 with a huge matchup on the schedule against the NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings. At the end of the game, the Packers took home a big-time 23-6 win to improve to 7-3-1 on the season.

With a Thanksgiving Day matchup next up on Green Bay’s schedule, the Packers badly needed to beat the Vikings.

Micah Parsons was a huge part of the win for Green Bay. Once again, he made his presence felt in the pass rush, dominating the Minnesota offensive line. He finished the game with two sacks and three total quarterback hits.

Not only did Parsons have a big performance for the Packers, he also reached a huge NFL milestone.

As shared by ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Parsons reached his fifth consecutive 10-sack season. That places him second all-time in NFL history with 10-sack seasons to begin a career, trailing another Packers’ legend.

“With two sacks today, Micah Parsons has his fifth consecutive 10-sack season,” Demovsky wrote on X. “That’s the second-longest streak to begin a career since sacks were first recorded in 1982. Only Reggie White, with nine straight, has more.”

Of course, Green Bay acquired Parsons in a shocking blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys just before the start of the regular season. In order to get him, the Packers had to give up two first-round picks and star defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

Already, Parsons has completely changed the outlook for the Green Bay defense. He is one of the best defensive players in football and has been performing up to that standard so far. With him on the field, the Packers have had one of the NFL’s best defenses through the first 12 weeks of the season.

Not only did Green Bay acquire Parsons from the Cowboys for a high price, the team also gave him a huge contract. Parsons received a four-year, $186 million contract extension from the Packers, making him a cornerstone piece for the franchise moving forward.

It will be interesting to see how Green Bay fares on a short week against the Lions on Thanksgiving. A win over Detroit would put the Packers in a great position heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
