Liverpool have had little time to dwell on their latest Premier League defeat, having been brushed aside 3-0 by Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Instead, focus has already shifted to another big week, which includes the visit of PSV in the Champions League as well as a trip to West Ham on Sunday. Pressure is certainly mounting on the champions and on Arne Slot, with the Reds slipping into the bottom half of the table following the Forest loss.

Injuries certainly haven’t helped Liverpool in recent weeks, with Conor Bradley and Florian Wirtz the latest to join the list following the international break. Still, there is little excuse for the Reds’ current predicament and the team have it all to do to turn things around sooner rather than later.

Ahead of another crucial week, Echo Sport has taken a look at Slot’s current injury concerns and when those players are expected to return to action...

Conor Bradley

Prior to the weekend’s defeat, Slot confirmed right-back Bradley had suffered another injury setback while on international duty with Northern Ireland. The 22-year-old missed the start of the season with a hamstring problem but had been consistently available since.

Which is why it came as something of a surprise when the head coach confirmed last week that the defender had suffered a muscular injury and is now set for a spell on the sidelines. Bradley had started both World Cup qualifiers for Northern Ireland but was substituted at half-time in the win over Luxembourg.

"I don’t expect Conor to be part of the upcoming 22 days," Slot explained last week. "Maybe in the end, but not in the [next] 22 days unless something like a miracle happens, which I don’t expect."

Potential return date: Brighton (H) – December 13, 2025.

Florian Wirtz

Another surprise injury blow last week was Wirtz, who returned from international duty with Germany nursing a minor issue. He missed the defeat to Forest, but fortunately for Liverpool it is not deemed serious.

Based on the latest update, Wirtz could be available midweek against PSV or potentially for the trip to West Ham next weekend. "Florian should be able to play after [Forest], it depends on what happens after, but that shouldn’t be that long," the manager said last Friday.

Potential return date: PSV (H) – November 26, 2025.

Jeremie Frimpong

One of the key reasons Bradley’s injury is such a blow for Liverpool is that their other right-back option, Jeremie Frimpong, is also out with a hamstring issue. The Dutchman was forced off during the win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League last month and has been working his way back to fitness.

While the initial timeline indicated a return after the November international break, Slot’s latest update suggests another few weeks on the sidelines.

"Jeremie is out just as long," he said last week. "He’s not probably going to be available in the upcoming two or three weeks as well. It’s going to be interesting who all of you want to see as a right full-back."

Potential return date: Leeds United (A) – December 6, 2025.

Giovanni Leoni

Adding to Liverpool’s defensive injury woes, they remain without summer centre-back signing Giovanni Leoni. The 18-year-old prospect joined the Reds from Parma in August and made a promising debut in the League Cup win over Southampton.

However, disaster struck in the second half when he was stretchered off with a knee injury. It was subsequently confirmed that he had sustained an ACL injury and would face an extended spell on the sidelines.

The last Slot spoke of the teenager was following the diagnosis in September. "He is not in a good place because he tore his ACL, which means he will be out around a year," he said.

"Being so young and coming to a new country and playing so well in your first game, it's very hard to take the positives. But you try to look at that, and that is that he is still so young, and he has so many years still to go after he recovers."

Potential return date: Summer 2026
