Manchester United entertain Everton in tonight’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are unbeaten in the last five league games. They are presently 10th in the table with 18 points and can jump into fourth with a three-goal margin win.
Ahead of the game, manager Ruben Amorim has some injuries to deal with. Harry Maguire is doubtful after his hamstring injury against Tottenham Hotspur this month.
Benjamin Sesko suffered a knee injury in the same game and is sidelined until early December. Alongside the duo, Lisandro Martinez and Matheus Cunha may not feature.
Martinez has been working on his fitness after a long-term knee injury, but the game may come too soon for him. Cunha may have picked up an injury in training last weekend.
The Brazilian was forced to pull out of a Christmas lights switch-on in Altrincham. He was absent on Saturday night with ‘medical reasons’ cited as the reason for his absence.
We anticipate Amorim to make at least two changes to the starting XI.
Formation: 3-4-2-1
Predicted Line-up:
Senne Lammens has started the last five Premier League games, keeping one clean sheet. He has been almost flawless and has caught the eye with his long-ball distribution. He is guaranteed to start in goal.
In defence, there may be an enforced change with Maguire doubtful. Leny Yoro is the likely replacement. Matthijs de Ligt will move to the middle of the back three with Yoro and Luke Shaw playing either side of him.
Noussair Mazraoui had a fine international break for Morocco with assists against Mozambique and Uganda. The 28-year-old should get the nod over the Diogo Dalot in the right wing-back position.
Patrick Dorgu has been in and out of the starting XI for the Red Devils this campaign. The Dane is likely to keep his place at left wing-back after a top-class showing for Denmark against Scotland last week.
Further forward, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes are nailed-on starters in the centre of the park.
In his pre-match presser, manager Ruben Amorim clearly indicated that Manuel Ugarte must improve in training in order to boost his prospects of more playing time in the number six position.
Kobbie Mainoo is another fringe player at the moment. The Englishman could be back in the matchday sqaud if he overcomes his minor injury. He could be restricted to a bench role as well.
In the final third, Amorim has a selection headache if Cunha is deemed unfit. If the Brazilian is sidelined, Bryan Mbeumo could play as the makeshift number nine for the Mancunian giants.
Mason Mount, valued at £25 million by Transfermarkt, could come in to partner Amad Diallo in the attacking midfield department against the Toffees.
