When the Green Bay Packers pulled the trigger on a massive trade that landed them superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys, the expectations for the team’s defense were through the roof. And so far, Parsons has been an excellent and effective weapon on that side of the field for Green Bay, which leaned on once again on its stop unit to crush another opponent.
On Sunday, thePackers demolished the visiting Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field to the tune of a 23-6 score.
Minnesota quarterback JJ McCarthy couldn’t get much going under center, as he faced relentless pressure under center from Parsons and Green Bay’s pass rush. In total, McCarthy was sacked five times for a loss of 35 yards.
In addition, the former Michigan Wolverines star quarterback was intercepted twice, as he completed just 12 of his 19 throws in the contest.

The 26-year-old Parsons had two of Green Bay’s sacks against the Vikings. Moreover, he had three quarterback hits in the game, which also saw Devonte Wyatt, Isaiah McDuffie and Warren Brinson record sacks.
For Parsons, his performance in Week 12 put him in an exclusive group of NFL players with at least 10 sacks in five or more seasons consecutively.

With two sacks today, Micah Parsons has his fifth consecutive 10-sack season. That’s the second-longest streak to begin a career since sacks were first recorded in 1982. Only Reggie White, with nine straight, has more.
On the season, Parsons has 10 sacks to go with 30 total tackles with a forced fumble.
He can add more to his total when Green Bay faces offagainst the Detroit Lions in Week 13 at Ford Field in Detroit.
