Ruben Amorim is showing signs of life at Manchester United

Manchester United are looking to extend their unbeaten run to six games and get back to winning ways against Everton on Monday night.

Ruben Amorim is working to prepare for a January transfer window that could prove pivotal for the club. The Red Devils are at last showing signs of improvement this season, largely thanks to the squad enhancements secured during the summer.

Following months of development at Barcelona as he looks to secure a permanent move to Spain, Marcus Rashford was dealt a cruel blow this week. The United loanee was compelled to observe from the stands whilst his Catalan team-mates created history.

Here's all the latest news from Old Trafford.

Adeyemi 'favours Arsenal over United'

One player linked with a switch to Old Trafford is Borussia Dortmund striker Karim Adeyemi.

Nevertheless, United's prospects of securing the German have suffered a setback following reports that he would rather join Arsenal.

Despite a major revamp of their attacking line-up last summer, United are reportedly eyeing further forward additions in 2026. Adeyemi has emerged as a potential target after talks over a new contract with Dortmund are believed to have hit a roadblock.

The 23-year-old winger's current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2027, which could force Dortmund to accept a reduced fee for his services.

However, reports suggest that the Black and Yellows are holding out for £75million, a figure thought to be beyond what United are prepared to pay.

This could provide Arsenal with an opportunity to swoop in if they see greater value in securing his signature. United enjoy a good relationship with Adeyemi's agent, Jorge Mendes, who has facilitated the signings of clients such as Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte.

However, the purported £75m price tag becomes harder to justify given Adeyemi has fallen out of favour under manager Niko Kovac.

The forward was a regular starter for much of the first half of this season but has been relegated to the bench for their last three Bundesliga matches, netting just four times in 15 appearances across all competitions this campaign.

Saturday represented a momentous occasion in Barcelona's history as the club finally returned to the refurbished Camp Nou after a two-year absence.

The Blaugrana thrashed Athletic Club 4-0 in the inaugural match at the revamped stadium, yet Rashford was conspicuously absent, reports the Mirror.

"Marcus Rashford will miss today's match against Athletic Club due to flu," stated an official club announcement. The news meant Rashford was denied the chance to participate in the historic debut of Barca's enhanced venue.

Rashford had previously expressed his desire to feature at the revamped Camp Nou once it reopened. Speaking during an open training session earlier in November, he revealed: "It's a very nice feeling. It's a beautiful stadium and when it is full it's going to be unbelievable.

"Camp Nou was always one of my favourite stadiums and one I wanted to play in. But to play on it for Barcelona is going to be a different feeling. I can't wait to be on the pitch. I will enjoy it."

The positive news is that Rashford will still have the opportunity to feature in Barca's squad when they host their first sell-out crowd at the Camp Nou. Saturday's match took place before approximately 45,000 spectators, with certain renovation projects still in progress.

Once the construction is finished and the ground is operating at full capacity, it's anticipated to accommodate roughly 105,000 supporters.

Considering Rashford's influence under Hansi Flick this campaign, it's likely he'll be among the first players selected, assuming he's available when that moment arrives.
