**Journalist Fabrizio Romano has given the latest on Arne Slot’s Liverpool future, following the 3-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.**
Saturday’s loss at Anfield was a hugely concerning afternoon for the Reds, with the pressure on Slot now at its most intense.
Opinion is split over what Liverpool should do with the Dutchman, with some feeling the time is right for him to be sacked, and others saying he has enough credit in the bank after winning the Premier League title last season.
Speaking on YouTube \[via [_Caught Offside_](https://www.caughtoffside.com/2025/11/24/fabrizio-romano-liverpool-decision-arne-slot/)\], Romano claimed that nothing concrete has emerged yet, in terms of FSG making a decision with Slot:
_“What’s going on with Arne Slot? Guys, at the moment I have no information that the Liverpool owners are thinking of making an immediate decision about Arne Slot._ _So Liverpool are NOT thinking of changing the manager right now. Of course, they – the owners, the club – want to see different results, they expect a lot more from Arne Slot and his team._
_“Surely Liverpool expect to see something different from both the manager and the players, because it’s not just Arne Slot. The players also have to take responsibility, as Virgil van Dijk said, so it’s like the players and the manager._ _Arne Slot knows that the situation is dangerous, complicated, but at the same time he feels the support and trust of the club. Liverpool are NOT in talks with any other manager and are not even considering the possibility of sacking the manager._
_“This is the current situation. Of course, the results have to change, and quickly, both in the Champions League and in the Premier League, especially in the Premier League, because Liverpool are really in a complicated situation. This is the feeling today.”_
**How many more games can Slot afford to lose?**

Sacking Slot now would be harsh, given his feats last season, but there is no doubt that results have to improve drastically for him to keep his job.
Eight defeats in the last 11 games is unacceptable, with the performances also concerning, and wins against PSV Eindhoven and West Ham feel like a must this week.
It is sad to see Slot under so much pressure, having shone immensely after replacing Jurgen Klopp last year, and he is facing the biggest challenge of his managerial career to date.
The players have to improve, too, especially in terms of attitude and work ethic, or a change in the dugout could happen sooner rather than later.
