The Green Bay Packers are on a winning streak again, as they followed up their 27-20 win at MetLife Stadium over the New York Giants in Week 11 with a23-6 demolition of the Minnesota Vikingson Sunday at Lambeau Field.
The defense was especially spectacular for Green Bay. Micah Parsons and the Packers’ stop unit came up with five sacks and forced three Minnesota turnovers. Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy struggled mightily in trying to move the chains for his team, which ended up racking up just a total of 145 yards to 288 by Green Bay.
Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur seemingly did not have to sweat much in figuring out what his team needed to do to get the job done against the Vikings, as the Packers improved to 7-3-1 overall and 4-2 at home, so far in the 2025 NFL season.
LaFleur sounds off on Packers’ approach amid blowout win against Vikings in Week 12
Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur reacts to a call by officials during their football game against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
With the Packer dominating on defense, they did not have to push much on the other side of the field.
Jordan Love passed the ball just 21 times, completing 14 of them for 139 yards with zero touchdowns.
Instead, Green Bay went with its ground attack more despite the fact that the team was missing its best rushing weapon in the form of running back Josh Jacobs due to injury. Without Jacobs, Green Bay let running back Emanuel Wilson loose, as the former Division II tailback led the team with 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. Another running back, Chris Brooks, rushed eight times for 21 yards.
“I’ve never called the same run so many times consecutively,” said after the game, per the Associated Press (h/tESPN). “It was like 3 yards and a cloud of dust, but it was effective. Bottom line, I just thought the way our defense was playing, we just took the air out of the ball and said, ‘Go win it for us.’ ”
It could be a different approach in Week 13 for Green Bay, as it is scheduled to face the seemingly much more dangerous Detroit Lions in a rematch, this time at Ford Field in Detroit.
