PSG v Tottenham Hotspur – Key player could be set for big return in Champions League match

Last week, we covered claims from France raising concerns over Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembélé’s availability to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, the forward picked up a calf injury, just weeks after recovering from a hamstring injury. This forced him to miss PSG’s last two fixtures, and there’s been concern over his involvement against Tottenham.

L’Equipe report the 28-year-old took part in training on Friday but wasn’t fit to feature against Le Havre on Saturday.

The PSG star is said to be feeling ‘positive’ after he suffered a calf injury against Bayern Munich.

He took advantage of the international break to work with PSG’s medical team to regain full fitness. Last week, the Ligue 1 winners said the France international is in the final stage of recovery.

“He knows his body well. We’ll see on Monday and Tuesday. There are three days left. After that, it will be up to the coach to decide,” a PSG source told L’Equipe.

The newspaper states the player and Luis Enrique’s coaching staff will have to decide whether he can feature against Tottenham.

Dembélé’s inclusion in the squad would be a big boost for Enrique and PSG. The manager should provide more clarity on his possible return in the pre-match press conference.
