Liverpool send official on transfer mission – 2 midfielders stand out as options

Liverpool had a scout in attendance at Stadion Rujevica for HNK Rijeka’s clash against Hajduk Split on Saturday.

That’s what Croatia’s Novi List are reporting, and they have a short report about Liverpool.

HNK Rijeka sealed a 5-0 win over their league rivals Hajduk Split at the weekend. Novi List reports this match was attended by agents, and scouts from several clubs, including Liverpool.

The Reds, AC Milan, Parma, Sassuolo and FC Twente were among the clubs to have sent officials to Croatia.

The outlet isn’t certain about the player[s] that the Premier League side and others had come to watch.

They suspect Arne Slot’s side could have been there to take a closer look at HNK Rijeka star Toni Fruk and Hajduk Split star Rokas Pukštas.

Fruk is a 24-year-old attacking midfielder who can also operate across the front three. He played the full 90 minutes, scoring a hat-trick and registering an assist at the weekend.

Pukštas is also an attacking midfielder and played the entire match in his side’s latest loss.

Hajduk Split’s 18-year-old centre-back Branimir Mlacic and Rijeka winger Dominik Thaqi could also have been on Liverpool’s radar.
