United’s last outing came against Tottenham away from home and the Red Devils snatched a point after a superb injury-time equaliser from defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Ahead of United’s 2-2 draw against Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Red Devils had dropped Premier League points against Nottingham Forest.

The Premier League club had won three Premier League matches in a row for the first time under Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim in October alone.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Gary Lineker spotlighted that United could climb into the Premier League top four if the Red Devils defeat Everton on Monday.

“Obviously, if you’re listening to this on the Monday, and the Monday night game is Manchester United [vs] Everton, if Manchester United win, they’re in the top four,” he said.

Reacting to Lineker, Micah Richards added: “It just shows you how up and down the season’s been, hasn’t it?”

Lineker then asked: “Yeah, it really is. Why do you think that is?”

Richards continued: “I think that there’s more teams at the same level this season. I think if you look at the start that Man United had, to think they can go top four.”

United have dropped to 10th place in the Premier League table after the weekend fixtures, but the Red Devils are only three points adrift from fourth-place Aston Villa.
