Tony Cascarino blasts Pep Guardiola for what he did to Bruno Guimaraes at full time on Saturday

**Newcastle United conquered Manchester City at St James's Park on Saturday, a feat so rare in the Premier League that Rafa Benitez was in charge at Newcastle the last time it happened.**

A brace from Harvey Barnes made up for his shocking first-half miss, and a superb performance by Bruno Guimaraes, who will take credit for both assists for Barnes, were the deciding factors, but in truth, to a man, Newcastle were brilliant.

In fact, Bruno was so good that Pep Guardiola made a beeline for the Brazilian at full-time to speak with him.

It's a well-documented fact that Pep is a big admirer of Bruno's, and we have seen this before when he's had his arm around our captain after the game to have a chat, but it hasn't gone down well with TalkSPORT's Tony Cascarino.

Tony Cascarino has called out Pep Guardiola's bizarre full-time actions

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The ex-Republic of Ireland international voiced his displeasure at Guardiola's actions on TalkSPORT on Sunday, saying that he shouldn't be chatting with opposition players unless he's got a problem with something they've done during the game.

> "Pep doesn't have a divine right to go up to opposition players. Imagine if Eddie Howe went up to a City player and cuddled him, and started giving him instructions and telling him what to do.

>

> "I get it if you were to say 'that tackle, what you're doing is dangerous, ' but he wasn't; he was pointing and directing. I thought, 'you can't do that', you don't have the right as a manager, and he's done it more than one occasion, he's done it a few times where he talks to the opposition's players who are Eddie Howe's players. Not yours. I just don't get it, Eddie Howe's not doing that around the City players, he might shake their hand, not more, you don't see any other manager doing that."

What's Pep's game here?

-----------------------

It is a very strange thing to do, and like Cascarino says, it's only Pep who seems to do this, and nobody ever questions it.

You may see managers chatting with the other team's players as they pass on the pitch, and it may well be friendly, but Pep seems to bypass his own men to go straight for Bruno.

If we were conspiracy theorists, we'd say he's trying to tap up Bruno ahead of the transfer window, but he wouldn't be so brazen. Would he?
