Alexander Isak is breaking records at Liverpool already - Although he probably won't want this…

· 23 November 2025, 21:00

When he was at Newcastle United, Alexander Isak broke several goal-scoring records, rightfully placing him on a pedestal amongst fans.

Unfortunately, his actions in the summer crumbled that pedestal to dust, and now the Sweden international is persona non grata around the Toon.

We can't think of anyone connected with Newcastle United who has had such a mighty fall from grace as Isak has, and it was all his own doing.

Because of that, we're a quarter of the way through the season and we're still deriving great pleasure from watching the £125 million man fail spectacularly for his new club.

How's that grass, Alex? Greener?

Alexander Isak has broken a 119-year-old Liverpool record

Isak still only has one goal for Liverpool, and that came against Southampton in the Carabao Cup. Other than that, he has contributed precisely nothing to Liverpool's cause.

His fitness has been a major issue with his availability being so low that he's only made four starts for the Reds so far this season.

And that's where his new record comes in. As reported by Newcastle World, Isak has become the first Liverpool player since Percy Saul in 1906 to lose the first four games he's started for Liverpool.

Sky Sports called Alexander Isak 'completely anonymous' on Saturday

Liverpool were battered by Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday, and Isak was hooked before the hour mark, with Sky Sports writing that he was 'completely anonymous'.

We know there will come a day when he wipes the smile off our smug faces, but until that day comes, we are going to continue to enjoy this downfall.

We're sure we aren't alone in this schadenfreude bliss, either.
