Guardiola admits he felt ’embarrassed and ashamed’ after clashing with cameraman

**Pep Guardiola says he felt “embarrassed and ashamed” after clashing with a cameraman following Man City’s defeat to Newcastle.**

The City boss was seen remonstrating with a cameraman after the game but insists he apologised straight afterwards.

“I apologised,” he said. “I feel embarrassed and ashamed when I saw it and I apologised to the cameraman after one second.

“I am who I am. 1,000 games, I am not a perfect person, I make mistakes.”

Guardiola was also seen arguing with the referee after the defeat but would not be drawn on the incident, saying he would only talk about it on Friday ahead of the Premier League game against Leeds.

“What is for sure is that I defend my team and my players,” he said. “That’s for sure. The reason why is I want to defend my team, that is no doubt, because from my experience to win the Premier League you have to get 100 points or 98 points, otherwise we don’t win it. That’s for sure.

“Losing four games in 12, we have to improve a lot.”

Meanwhile, midfielder Rodri is still not fit and will miss the Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.

“Not for tomorrow,” he said on the Spaniard.

“Not long. Not short, but not long.

“We will wait a little bit more to make sure that he’s fine.”
