Ranked – Top 3 Everton Goals V Manchester United

Ahead of tonight’s game against Manchester United, we look at three memorable Everton goals at Old Trafford.

3 – Bryan Oviedo, Manchester United 0-1 Everton. December 2013

The Costa Rican international was the unlikely hero as Everton travelled to Old Trafford without a win there in 21 years.

Moyes was in the United dugout, while Roberto still had a dream with the Toffees. It was an end to end game, with Everton’s enterprising attack under Martinez beginning to blossom.

With mere minutes remaining, the brave game plan paid dividends as Bryan Oviedo’s sidefooted Everton to a historic victory. Moyes opened-mouthed on the touchline and 3,000 Blues singing Oviedo Baby all the way down the East Lancs.

2 – Steven Pienaar, Manchester United 4-4 Everton. April 2012

Everton were 4-2 down with seven minutes remaining before Nikica Jelevic pulled one back. Two minutes later, the away end exploded into pandemonium as Pienaar latched onto a smart Marounne Fellaini pass to slot past De Gea.

God is great and so was Steven Pienaar.

1 – Robert Warzycha, Manchester United 0-3 Everton. August 1992

There’s a hint of Gazza about this goal. Warzycha finds himself in space down the right. As Gary Pallister attempts to close the Polish international down, he lifts it over Pallister’s head with his right foot, cuts back inside with his left and coolly slots past Schmeichel.

Absolutely fair play. A 3-0 win for the Toffees at Old Trafford with Gary Pallister sent for the Echo on the way. A classic NEC Everton jersey and a mustache-sporting goalscorer. It had it all, this one.

The Toffees could do with a bit of magic like that this evening!
