NBA superstar LeBron James shares final season wish for Chris Paul

The 2025-26 season will be the final one for one of the NBA‘s greatest ever point guards, Chris Paul. The Point God is in his 21st season, and he’s been a superstar for many years. LeBron James and CP3 have always been friends, and the King recently spoke about Paul’s final season.

Having returned to the Los Angeles Clippers for his final year, Paul is no longer a starter. At 40 years of age, he’s well past his prime in terms of impact on the court. So when asked about what he wishes to see in CP’s final season, LeBron’s answer was very wholesome.

“Hope he can just get joy out of this final year. …I hope he takes it all in. This is his last hoorah, so we’ll never get this moment again once you’re done to be able to go out and be in the arena.” – LeBron James on what he wishes for Chris Paul in his final season pic.twitter.com/7CL5j1MlIF

“Happiness, he should be as happy as he possibly can. You don’t want to look back when you’re done, like, ‘I was angry and couldn’t take advantage of that last year,” James told the media.

“Hope he can just get joy out of this. Like you said, we’ve known each other forever, so hell of a player, hell of a career. He’s done pretty much everything this league has to offer. I hope he takes it all in. This is his last hurrah, so we’ll never get this moment again once you’re done, to be able to go out and be in the arena.”

Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony have already retired, and now CP is on his way. Surely, James is also thinking about his own retirement. The level he’s still playing at, though, means that it won’t happen anytime soon.
