The move reflects mounting frustration over the offense’s direction as the 2–9 team searches for a spark. Here are six strong contenders to replace him.

1. Brian Daboll
Former Giants head coach Brian Daboll remains a top name. He led New York for three and a half seasons before being dismissed after a 2–8 stretch in 10 games. He has not taken another job and has reportedly drawn interest. The Bills denied a reunion with Sean McDermott, but the Raiders could pursue him.
2. Brian Callahan
The ex-Tennessee Titans head coach is also in the mix. Callahan was 1–5 before his firing this season. He has experience as an offensive head coach and may be available.
3. Greg Olson
Greg Olson has deep roots in the Raiders’ system. He served as their offensive coordinator from 2013 to 2014 and again from 2018 to 2021. He knows the franchise. His challenge: the team had made the playoffs only once during his first stint as OC.
4. Nate Carroll
The Raiders’ assistant quarterbacks and game-management coach is also under consideration. He lacks coordinator experience, but his familiarity with Geno Smith and the team structure could make him a viable internal option.
5. Brennan Carroll
Brennan Carroll brings a strong background in run-game coordination. He coached with Seattle before spending three years as offensive coordinator at Arizona. Most recently, he worked at Washington. His experience with offensive lines and ground attacks may appeal to the Raiders.
6. Chris Beatty
Chris Beatty is well known for his recruiting acumen and tight ends coaching. Although the Bears did not retain him after 2024, Beatty’s ability to develop talent could help transform the Raiders’ offensive identity. He could take over play-calling and roster development.
Las Vegas now must choose a path forward after the Chip Kelly episode. Will they go with an established name like Daboll or Callahan? Or will they invest in internal coaches like Olson, Carroll, or Beatty? The next hire could determine whether the Raiders’ offense improves or continues to lag.
The pressure is real. With the season slipping away, the decision could define the franchise’s short-term fate and its long-term culture.
