Editor-in-chief mailbag: An uneven week for the Sixers

The Sixers have exchanged wins and losses for nine straight games. They haven’t won or lost consecutive games since dropping their Chicago-Cleveland back-to-back earlier this month. It feels kind of appropriate.

Over the summer when many of you asked my expectations for this team, I said I believed they’d hover around .500 — that the uncertainty surrounding Joel Embiid and Paul George would hurt them, but they had enough talent on the rest of the roster to stay afloat. So far, that’s looking like a solid prediction as the Sixers sit at 9-7. They’re a couple games over .500 because Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe are probably exceeding expectations — though we’ll see how healthy they can remain.

Due to some things outside of my control, I wasn’t able to do mailbags the last couple weeks. Let’s open it back up! Happy to take all your Sixers questions ahead of an NBA Cup matchup against the Magic Tuesday.
