Eagles rivals just admitted their latest embarrassing mistake (of many)

It is far from always being sunny in Philadelphia as the Eagles are still trying to process the 21-point lead they blew to lose to the Dallas Cowboys 24-21 in Week 12. One thing all Eagles fans can agree on: count their blessings they are not the New York Giants.

NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo report the Giants have fired defensive coordinator Shane Bowen after New York blew their own lead to the Detroit Lions in Week 12 and lost in overtime 34-27. This is the second firing by the Giants this season after former head coach Brian Daboll was let go.

Former Eagles backup quarterback Mike Kafka is the interim head coach of the Giants. Kafka has gone 0-2 as the head coach so far.

Giants are a disaster Eagles fans can be glad they are not apart of

It's hard to believe the Eagles lost to this Giants team, as the Giants are 2-10 on the season and on their way to being one of the top five picks in the draft. New York has lost five straight since their last win against the Eagles 34-17.

Besides the Thursday night disaster last month, the Eagles were able to exact revenge on the Giants with a 38-20 win two weeks later. Ironically, that was probably the last time Philly looked like a complete team, not the mess they are now.

The Eagles won't have to worry about the Giants in the NFC East since New York is at the bottom of it. After the Dallas loss, the Cowboys have become a problem, despite still being two and a half games behind them in the division.

New York will undergo significant changes in the offseason, which will take some of the pressure off the Eagles for the time being. For now, Philly has to focus on improving and getting out of the rut they are in.
