Chelsea win race for promising wonderkid as teenager joins club for trial

Chelsea are keeping up the project of bringing in the world’s most talented youngsters to go alongside the first team additions they are making.

The Blues are currently reaping the rewards of signing Andrey Santos and Estevao Willian months before they ended up making their debuts for the club.

Santos starred against Burnley at the weekend in his first 90 minute appearance for the club, while Estevao is preparing for a battle of the wonderkids against Lamine Yamal.

The Blues are continuing to look at the transfer market as an opportunity to bring in young talents for the future, and have been battling a number of top clubs for the services of Amara Keita.

Chelsea hand Amara Keita a trial at Cobham

The highly-talented Guinean has been on the radar of clubs like Nottingham Forest, Watford and Leicester City, however according to Africa Foot, he has decided to join Chelsea.

The report goes on to say that Keita has been offered a two-week trial with the Under 15s, before potentially becoming a regular in the academy.

With Didier Drogba and John Obi Mikel amongst the club legends who represented African nations, it looks as if there is a real appetite for the Blues to add more players from that continent in the coming years.

The Blues had scouts in attendance at the recent U17 World Cup, with Burkina Faso recently being eliminated at the semi-final stage.

Chelsea have interest in Asharaf Tapsoba, after being impressed with what they saw from him at the competition in Qatar.

The Blues have also bid for Abduljelil Kamaldeen, as they look to continue the conveyor belt of talent coming into Cobham, and potentially the first team in the future.

Even if they don’t make it at Stamford Bridge, there are opportunities to move on to big projects elsewhere, including the exciting Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
