For the first time in 19 years, Kansas City Chiefs fans will be able to cheer for their team on Thanksgiving, as the Chiefs take on the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 27 for the 2025 holiday.
The matchup will be held at 3:30 p.m. at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and broadcast locally on CBS (Channel 5). For those in the metro who may have a late dinner, or just want to be away from their family for a few hours, there are multiple options outside the home to catch the game.
Some establishments will have regular hours, but others may be open with a select food menu. Here are some bars and restaurants that will be open during the Chiefs’ Thanksgiving game.
JJ’s Restaurant
Where: 4810 Roanoke Parkway
When: 3 to 10 p.m.
JJ’s Restaurant is offering 50% off drink tabs during bar service. It’s also taking $10 guest donations, with 100% of the profits going towards the Lucky 13 Dog Shelter.
Big John’s Corner Bar
Where: 213 W. Maple Ave., Independence
When: 2 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
The bar will be hosting a pot luck, as it asks visitors to bring in their favorite dish.
Maloney’s Bar
Where: 7201 W. 79th St., Overland Park
When: Opens at 2:30 p.m.
Nick and Nino’s Pub
Where: 10024 N. Ambassador Drive
When: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
In the event your family isn’t cooking on Thanksgiving, Nick and Nino’s Pub has options for you. The restaurant is offering Thanksgiving food options for those visiting.
The dinner options include a choice between pot roast, turkey, and ham. Each dinner is served with mashed potatoes & gravy, carrots, green beans, a dinner roll, and your choice of pumpkin pie, pecan pie, or apple pie slice.
The Bar
Where: Three locations, 6101 Johnson Drive, Mission; 14871 W. 151st St. Olathe; 5316 W. 95th St., Prairie Village
When: 2:30 p.m. to midnight
Select locations for The Bar will be open on Thanksgiving, as the Shawnee location will be closed, while the West Plaza location is closed due to a private event.
No food will be served, as the kitchen staff will have the day off, according to The Bar.
Tanner’s Bar & Grill
Where: 11134 Holmes Road
When: Doors open at 2 p.m.
Tanner’s Bar & Grill will host a Chiefs watch party, while also launching its Twinkle Christmas Pop-Up, which will feature Christmas lights, festive tunes, holiday drinks and more.
If you bring the kids along, they can also get a free toy, according to the bar.
