Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons has been the most dominant player on coordinator Jeff Hafley’s defense since arriving in a blockbuster trade this summer, and is in the midst of one of his most disruptive stretches of the season.
Parsons is crafting a strong case as this year’s Defensive Player of the Year, and certainly has been the Packers’ most valuable player through the season’s first 12 weeks, but his breakout against the Minnesota Vikings propelled him into the franchise record books.
Micah Parsons stakes claim to Packers history in win over Vikings
Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons (1) sacks Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy (9) during their football game Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The Vikings had no answers for Parsons on Sunday afternoon, with the All-Pro edge rusher logging two sacks, two tackles for loss and three quarterback hits on Minnesota’s struggling signal caller, J.J. McCarthy.
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky points out that Parsons upping his sack total on the season to 10, has him on Packers Hall of Famer Reggie White’s heels for the NFL record for most double-digit sack seasons to begin a career.
“At 10 sacks through 11 games,” Demovsky writes for ESPN. “Parsons has his fifth straight double-digit sack season, which is now the second-longest streak by any player (behind Reggie White’s nine) to begin a career since sacks were first tracked in 1982.”

Through his first five seasons, Parsons has now produced 62.5 sacks, well on his way to crafting the kind of career that could land his bust alongside White’s one day in Canton, Ohio.
Parsons now becomes the first Packers defender to log double-digit sacks since the 2020 campaign.
For the Packers, though, the hope is that Parsons continues to wreak havoc in opposing backfields as a driving force behind multiple runs at the Super Bowl in the years ahead, beginning this January.
