Arne Slot is under big pressure to turn things around at Liverpool.
Reds fans could have never quite imagined how poorly they would start this season, but after 12 Premier League games, they are starting to realise how bad things are.
They are 11 points off league-leaders Arsenal, with their title defence basically over, meaning the Champions League looks to be their best chance of silverware.

A lot has to change if they are to win this competition, though, and with an in-form PSV side up next, Slot will have to do a bit of tinkering to his side.
He may have to make some very bold choices too, with Wayne Rooney believing he needs to drop one of his stars for the sake of the rest of the team.

Wayne Rooney urges Arne Slot to drop Mohamed Salah
None of Liverpool’s players have really been themselves so far this season, but one who has had a bigger drop-off than most has been Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian has not found his goalscoring boots just yet, with his performances and work-rate being questioned week after week.
Rooney is just one person who has hit out at his lack of defensive contribution in the past, and he has done so again, this time believing he needs to be dropped.

“If you’re one of the players who they’ve signed and you’re on the bench and you’ve seen him not running – and again he’s a club legend and everything he’s done for the club – but if you’re on the bench, then what message does that send to you?” he said on the Wayne Rooney Podcast.
“If I was Arne Slot, I’d try and make a big decision so it has an impact on the rest of the team.
“When you’re not winning games, you want to stay compact and hard to beat.

“While I think they’re going through this period, I think 100% he [Slot] needs to make a decision and get them compact, get them hard to beat and every player running back and then when they start winning games you can bring him back in and hope that he is running back more.
“I think that will have an impact on the team for sure.”
Federico Chiesa is the obvious Mohamed Salah replacement
If he does drop Salah, which he probably should given how poor defensively they have been, it simply has to be Federico Chiesa who starts instead of him, with his energy exactly what Liverpool are missing.
Rooney mentioned Salah does not work hard enough off the ball or in defence, but Chiesa certainly does and this could solve the issue.
He has also made an impact most times he has come off the bench, with the Italian very deserving of a start.
The only issue is, with Salah going to AFCON fairly soon, he might play most of the games while he is available, suggesting he will not be dropped and the Reds must persist with this issue.
