The New York Giants have been a mess once again this season. New York fired head coach Brian Daboll after the loss against the Chicago Bears.

The Giants promoted offensive coordinator Mike Kafka as interim head coach. During the first two games, he is 0-2, but he has the team prepared. The issue has been defensive coordinator Shane Bowen. Bowen was fired on Monday after the Giants blew another double-digit lead against the Detroit Lions. Kafka decided to promote outside linebackers head coach Charlie Bullen as defensive coordinator. Well, all eyes will be on general manager Joe Schoen now after this firing.

With Bowen being fired on Monday, all of Schoen’s scapegoats are now gone. The Giants have a 2-10 record this season. If New York can’t win games down the stretch with these moves, there is no doubt that Schoen is going to have no one to blame and that ownership may potentially fire him.
New York had a 3-14 record last season. This team has blown five double digit leads this season. There are some fans who believe that Bowen was a major problem, but some think that the general manager has not constructed a great roster. Well, time will tell now if Bowen was the problem or if there are other major issues with this football team.

There is no doubt that Schoen has to see wins for the Giants within the next five weeks. If they go 1-4 in this stretch, it probably will not save his job. If New York goes 3-2 or better, maybe it could save his job. They will next face the New England Patriots (10-2 record) before the bye week. If there are major defensive issues that show up and they continue to loss, then owner John Mara should change his mind at the end of the year and fire Schoen also.
