**Real Madrid have reportedly received an offer from Liverpool for Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde amid their turbulent form this season.**
In the 2025/26 Premier League season, Liverpool have won six games and lost six. After lifting the trophy last term, the Reds have capitulated this season, and there are now serious questions being asked of Arne Slot and the players.
In the summer transfer window, Liverpool spent £466million to sign the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, but despite the latter excelling, there has been little evidence to suggest that the new signings have found their feet.
Now, with Liverpool losing so many games in all competitions, some out there believe more signings is what would remedy the situation. While that argument may be flawed, suggestions from Spain claim that an offer has been made to sign 27-year-old Federico Valverde.
Liverpool launch mega-money offer to sign Federico Valverde
-----------------------------------------------------------
According to Spanish news outlet [Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/real-madrid-recibe-oferta-150-millones-federico-valverde-20251123.html), Real Madrid have _“just received an offer of 150 million euros for Federico Valverde.”_ The Reds supposedly want to make the Uruguay international the _“leader of their new sporting project.”_

While Real Madrid have reportedly always considered Valverde to be “_untouchable”,_ the massive fee that Liverpool have offered has caused some “internal debate” at Madrid.
The midfielder is under contract until 2029 so Madrid have plenty of power in potential negotiations and the player has also allegedly repeated his desire to stay at the club so there may be little chance to sign him regardless of the massive proposed fee.
Valverde doesn’t solve any of Liverpool’s problems and would be a waste of more funds
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While Valverde is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world and would be a welcome addition at Anfield, he doesn’t solve any of the issues that Arne Slot and his players are being confronted this season.
The Reds are far too open in transition and leak goals like a midtable team – hence Liverpool’s 11th-place standing in the Premier League table.
Spending over £100m on signing Valverde would take Liverpool’s investment for this season beyond half a billion pounds with no guarantee of success.
Liverpool need to work on the basics before they consider adding any more signings much less a signing as high profile as Valverde.
