Aston Villa secured all three points over the weekend in their latest Premier League outing
Aston Villa won 2-1 away at Leeds United on Sunday afternoon. Attacker Morgan Rogers scored both of their goals at Elland Road against the Whites. Unai Emery’s men dug deep to secure all three points in West Yorkshire and will be relieved to have got the job done.
The Midlands outfit are back in action on Thursday night against Young Boys at Villa Park in the Europa League. They then play struggling Wolves at home in the Premier League on Sunday to see out November. Emery’s side should be in confident mood after their recent upturn in form.
Aston Villa eyeing Champions League return this season
Aston Villa are aiming to get back into the Champions League this season. They missed out on the final day of the last campaign after losing to Manchester United at Old Trafford. They are having to juggle Europa League football with their domestic duties at this moment in time.
Their win at Leeds saw them rise into the top four along with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. Crystal Palace sit just below them in 5th position followed by the likes of Brighton and Hove Albion, Sunderland, AFC Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur. They have won six of their first 12 matches so far this term.
Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott are both facing uncertain futures this winter. They are on loan from Manchester United and Liverpool respectively. However, they have both struggled for minutes and it remains to be seen at this stage whether they will stick around until next summer or leave early.
