A finish inside the top four is believed to be Chelsea’s main objective this term, but Enzo Maresca’s side should really be aiming higher than that.
Right now, they sit second in the Premier League table, just six points behind leaders Arsenal.
As well as that, Manchester City have been quite inconsistent, while Liverpool’s form has fallen off a cliff. Arne Slot’s team currently find themselves in 11th.
Can Chelsea win the Premier League title this season?
Former Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville does not think Chelsea can win the title in the current campaign, but he is wrong! Here are three reasons why the Blues can earn their first Premier League crown since 2017.

Midfield quality
In Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea have two of the best midfielders in the world. As a pairing, they may be the best in the Premier League.
Caicedo is thwarting attacks with relative ease, while Fernandez is scoring goals. They complement each other perfectly.
The options that can come in for them are not bad either. Andrey Santos was excellent against Burnley over the weekend, for example, and Romeo Lavia can be just as effective as Caicedo and Fernandez when he is fit enough to play. His ability to receive the ball and move it along while under pressure enables Chelsea to go from back to front in such a smooth manner.
Attacking depth
Chelsea also have a lot of quality out wide. Pedro Neto, Estevao Willian, Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens are all good wingers, though it may be a while before all of them reach their potential.
The fact that the Blues do have so many wide options, though, could help them mount a title charge, with depth obviously being very important.
Who is Chelsea’s best winger?
Enzo Maresca
You also cannot underestimate Enzo Maresca, who has proven to be a brilliant coach and tactician since arriving at Chelsea last year.
He has already guided the Blues to the Conference League and Club World Cup trophies and a top-four finish.

Jamie Carragher thinks Maresca is a top manager because of the rotation tactic that he uses, and it is hard to disagree with him when you consider what the Italian has accomplished at Stamford Bridge in such a short time with his methods.
Arsenal are still favourites to win the title and there are still a couple of concerns surrounding Chelsea, such as whether they have enough firepower up front. But do not rule them out just yet.
