"Unplayable": Alan Shearer blown away by Arsenal star who completed 100% dribbles vs Tottenham

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners were fancied to beat Spurs at home and did so in convincing fashion.

Eberechi Eze grabbed the headlines with his maiden career hat-trick. It was the first hat-trick in the north London derby since 1978.

Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer said that Eze was ‘unplayable’ against Spurs.

Shearer said: “You could just tell he was having the day of his life. He was absolutely loving it, getting on the ball, flicks and tricks and finishes.

“He was unplayable really and Spurs got it all wrong, the amount of space they allowed him and others to go and do their stuff.

“But he was just fantastic. He just looked as if he belonged there, he was lapping up the applause and everything else he was getting.

“Good on him. He was unplayable basically and he was absolutely fantastic.”

Eze was fancied to join Spurs from Crystal Palace in August, but Arsenal hijacked the deal after an unfortunate knee injury to Kai Havertz.

The 27-year-old has already made a huge impact during the first half of the season, registering eight goal contributions from 18 appearances.

Eze was exceptional against Spurs with his maiden career hat-trick. He also excelled in other attributes.

The playmaker completed 100 percent of his dribbles (3/3). He won seven out of 10 duels contested, with four recoveries and two interceptions.

It was a perfect all-round showing in the number 10 position, and the club’s faithful will be hoping that he can carry on with his bright run of form.

Arsenal have a big week ahead. They host Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday before a league derby at Chelsea on Sunday.

Eze is assured to continue as the attacking midfielder. Martin Odegaard is not far off from a potential return, having reported for training lately.

The Gunners skipper could be eased back into action off the bench after his knee injury.

In the long run, we should see Odegaard start from his familiar number 10 position. Eze could be asked to operate from the left side of the attack.
