Federico Chiesa monitored by four European clubs ahead of January 2026 window

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is facing mounting pressure following their latest defeat.

The Reds suffered a 3-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest, continuing a troubling run of form at Anfield.

The defeat leaves Liverpool 11th in the Premier League, 11 points behind pace-setters Arsenal, and at risk of falling further behind in the race for a Champions League spot.

Following the November international break, Liverpool faced a run of fixtures that looked manageable on paper, a perfect chance to restore confidence and momentum.

However, the reigning champions struggled to make an impact against Sean Dyche’s side, leaving fans and pundits questioning the squad’s current state of confidence.

With the January transfer window just over a month away, Liverpool have been linked with several potential signings to address their struggles, while some current players are reportedly being considered for a possible exit.

One player in focus is Federico Chiesa, who has found opportunities limited at Anfield this season, with just two starts in the Carabao Cup.

Speculation continues that the 28-year-old could return to Italy due to limited playing time.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli, and AS Roma are all closely monitoring Chiesa, with the two Milan clubs “seriously considering” a move.

Inter have been on the lookout for a winger who can consistently beat defenders and create numerical advantages, and Chiesa fits that profile perfectly.

He would be an ideal addition to a project aimed at boosting depth and unpredictability in attack.

AC Milan also view the former Juventus player as a valuable complement to Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, particularly in a position the club still consider too thin to compete at the highest level.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also mentioned the possibility of a switch.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “I believe Italian clubs will be able to try again during the January window.

“The door was closed in the summer by Chiesa and Liverpool. They wanted to continue together.

“Today the door remains closed but if you ask me what happens on January 20, based on the circumstances, we should monitor the Chiesa situation in the final days of the window.”
