Lions CB returns to practice as veteran pass rusher inches closer to return

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions beat the New York Giants in overtime a little more than 24 hours ago.

But they were back at work ahead of the Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers. The Lions held a walkthrough on Monday, providing their first round of injury updates with an estimated practice report before the quick turnaround.

They estimated that cornerback Terrion Arnold was limited at practice to open the week. Arnold has missed the last two games with a concussion, and did not return to practice at all last week.

For a defense that just got cornerback D.J. Reed back, Arnold’s return would give them their original starting duo back. Arnold has missed four games and Reed just missed nearly two months, with the Lions leaning on Amik Robertson and Rock Ya-Sin.

Safety Kerby Joseph (knee), center Graham Glasgow (knee), wide receiver Kalif Raymond (ankle) and tight end Brock Wright (neck) did not practice.

Raymond suffered his ankle injury in the third quarter while making a 7-yard catch on Sunday. He did not return to action.

Joseph hasn’t played since before the bye, with his knee injury holding him out for the previous five games. The All-Pro safety is said to be progressing, but still has not yet returned to practice.

The Lions also listed safety Brian Branch (toe/anke), left tackle Taylor Decker (shoulder), guard Tate Ratledge (knee), running back Jacob Saylors (back/shoulder), right tackle Penei Sewell (ankle), receiver Isaac TeSlaa (hand) and running back Sione Vaki (ankle) as limited.

TeSlaa worked through an oblique injury for the last couple of weeks. His hand injury is a new issue.

Marcus Davenport continues to near his return for the team’s pass rush. The veteran edge defender (shoulder) was estimated as a full participant on Monday. Davenport has been back at practice for two weeks, and has a little more time in his 21-day return window.

Rookie offensive lineman Miles Frazier and edge defender Josh Paschal, two others working in their 21-day windows, were also full participants.
