Justin Tucker, the longtime Ravens kicker whose career in Baltimore was derailed by accusations of sexual misconduct, will work out for the New Orleans Saints this week.
Tucker, who is unsigned, is eligible to resume playing after completing a suspension to start the season.
The NFL suspended Tucker for the first 10 games of the season due to violations of the league’s personal conduct policy. The 36-year-old became eligible for reinstatement earlier this month.
The Saints are the first team to officially bring in Tucker for a tryout since the Ravens released him in May.
Several massage therapists in the Baltimore area accused Tucker of sexual misconduct between January and May. The alleged incidents occurred between 2012 and 2016. The seven-time Pro Bowler has denied the allegations.
“Justin has always strived to carry himself in a way that would make his family and community proud,” Tucker’s representatives said in a statement to ESPN in the spring. “He stands by his previous statements. In order to put this difficult episode behind him and get back on the field as soon as possible, we have advised Justin to accept this resolution and close this matter.”
Tucker, who was on a Hall of Fame trajectory, had the worst season of his career in 2024. The 35-year-old converted just 73.3% of his field goals with two missed extra points.
The Texas product remains the most accurate kicker in NFL history — among those with at least 150 attempts — with a career field-goal percentage of 89.1%, narrowly ahead of the 88.5% posted by Harrison Butker of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kicker Blake Grupe has struggled for the 2-9 Saints this season. He missed two field goals on Sunday and has converted just 69% of his attempts this season, including 11 of 19 kicks from beyond 30 yards.
