Erin Andrews doesn’t hand out compliments lightly, but when it comes to Tom Brady’s development as a broadcaster, her honesty cuts both ways.

After a turbulent and heavily dissected debut season calling games for FOX, Andrews says Brady hasn’t just improved — he’s transformed. It comes as Brady sent the internet into a frenzy after a near "N-word" slip-up.

The former New England quarterback's first season in FOX’s lead booth wasn’t easy. His long-anticipated debut was delayed a year, then complicated by a Las Vegas Raiders ownership pursuit that forced the NFL to enforce strict boundaries on what he could say on air.

Critics questioned everything from his pacing to his comfort level to whether FOX’s massive 10-year, $375 million contract was ever about broadcasting skill at all.

But in Year 2, Andrews said viewers are watching a different version of Brady, one far more polished, relaxed, and confident.

“I think he was the most scrutinized person to get into a booth, especially last year, right?” Andrews said during an appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast. “And I’m proud of him… everyone has their opinion. And they let it be known what they thought of him.

“It was funny. I think we were doing Tampa–Eagles Week 4, and I was sitting in my hotel room, and they were playing last year’s Eagles–Bucs game.

“And I texted TB, and I just said, ‘Wow, listening to you in this game, which was your fourth game of the season versus now, it’s just night and day.’”

Andrews didn’t stop there. “I’m not surprised because I think all of us know what his work ethic was going to be heading into the job,” she said. “I think I’m more annoyed about how good he’s gotten and how quickly. I’m like, come on. Do you do everything well? This is crazy. And you look fantastic.”

Jason Kelce immediately jumped in. “He looks so good,” Kelce joked. “I need to figure out what he’s doing. His hair. His skin.”

“He’s not going to bars, Jason,” Andrews shot back. “I’m not willing to give that up,” Kelce laughed.

While Andrews is bullish on Brady’s growth, she also understands why the first season was rocky.

Early broadcasts were met with criticism from fans who felt the seven-time Super Bowl champion sounded unnatural and occasionally too cautious.

Still, the improvements are real. Brady has leaned deeper into breakdowns, sharpened his timing with Kevin Burkhardt, and found a more comfortable rhythm in telling stories from his 23-year career.
