ALLEN PARK -- Aidan Hutchinson heard New York Giants [offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor’s trash talk after Sunday’s game from some of his teammates](https://www.mlive.com/lions/2025/11/aidan-hutchinsons-late-sack-has-giants-ol-talking-smack-he-did-not-do-a-damn-thing.html).
But the Detroit Lions pass rusher isn’t sweating them, saying everyone is entitled to their opinion. Eluemunor [said Hutchinson “didn’t do a damn thing”](https://x.com/DDuggan21/status/1992727572732674237) until the game-clinching sack in overtime.
He also added that Hutchinson strikes him as the type “to celebrate that one play,” and that he handled him on an island for most of the game.
Hutchinson posted six pressures across the fourth quarter and overtime after posting only two through the first three quarters. His pressure rate of 29% is the highest of any player since 2018.
“But, hey, I think people will have their opinions about how things went, and that is what it is,” Hutchinson said Monday. “We won the game, and I ended the game with a sack. And I don’t care when the sack comes, as long as it’s there and we get the win.
“It is what it is. He had his opinion, and he expressed it, and we’re moving on to the Packers. It is what it is, man. He can speak his mind however he wants. We got the win and move on to the Packers.”
Hutchinson has a sack in all but three games this season. He’s got 8.5 through 11 games, leading the NFL with 68 pressures.
Dan Campbell was asked about Hutchinson’s performance earlier on Monday, too. The Lions coach pointed to the Giants throwing double teams and chips out of the backfield at him all game long.
He felt Hutchinson was productive, and he’ll always take a big play from one of his stars to win the game. Campbell knows Hutchinson wants to give more, but he’s also not sweating his performance.
“I think he would like a little bit more. Would I like a little bit more?” Campbell said. “Maybe in areas, but I also know he’s a productive player and there’s a lot of resources that go his way. So, if you’re going to tap that many resources, then we’ve also got to win somewhere else at times.
“But I know that guy gives us everything he’s got, every play. And he’s a smart football player, and he hustles, and he runs, and he hits, and he’s versatile.”
Hutchinson and the Lions are moving forward, preparing for the Green Bay Packers on the short week ahead of Thanksgiving in Detroit.
He had no tackles or sacks in the season-opening loss in Green Bay, posting one quarterback hit. His two pressures created that day remain the fewest of the season. Now, it was also his first game back from last year’s season-ending leg injury after not playing a snap in the preseason.
Much like the Lions, it just wasn’t his day the first time around against their divisional rival. This will be the third time Hutchinson, the Michigan native, will play on Thanksgiving since getting drafted in 2022.
After playing a season-high 77 defensive snaps against the Giants on Sunday, Hutchinson is focused on preparation for the Packers, sleeping and drinking a bunch of water on the quick turnaround.
He called this meeting with the Packers “as big as any game we’ll play in the regular season,” so he’s well aware of the stakes and the attention that comes with playing on Thanksgiving.
