Jordan Love had high praise for the Green Bay Packers’ defensive effort after their 23-6 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12. Following the win, the quarterback emphasized how the defense completely controlled the game, calling their performance a “big-time job by everybody.”
The team’s defense delivered one of its best showings of the season, holding the Vikings to only 145 total yards and forcing three turnovers. It was a statement game for defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s unit, which had faced criticism in recent weeks for inconsistent pass rush production. The victory not only strengthened Green Bay’s standings in the NFC North but also reestablished its defensive identity heading into the final stretch of the season.

Micah Parsons and Devonte Wyatt anchored a relentless front that sacked rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy five times. Parsons’ ability to disrupt plays consistently forced Minnesota into negative yardage, while Isaiah McDuffie and Evan Williams capped off the defensive dominance with late interceptions. Once Green Bay established a two-score lead in the third quarter, Hafley’s defense suffocated any hope of a response from Minnesota.
Fantasy football analysts also took notice of Green Bay’s shutdown performance, ranking them among the top defensive units for Week 12. Their mix of pressure, turnovers, and disciplined coverage produced a fantasy gem for managers who started the Packers’ defense. The team’s combination of opportunism and physical play demonstrated the balance the coaching staff has been working toward all season.

Love recently shared his thoughts about his team’s defense against the Vikings in Week 12. This can be seen in a video shared by Green Bay’s official website.
“It was great, it was amazing,” Love said. “You know, I think you hold a team to six points, it was great. And to be able to come up with so many turnovers like that, especially in the second half, it was a big-time job by everybody on defense.”
Head coach Matt LaFleur admitted the coaching staff leaned heavily on the defense in the second half, allowing them to dictate the game’s pace. The offense kept things conservative, trusting the defense to close it out. That formula worked perfectly as Green Bay recorded its most complete win in weeks.

Love’s appreciation captured what Packers fans witnessed, which was a championship-caliber defensive performance. The unit’s energy and execution have restored confidence within the locker room, proving that when this defense plays to its potential, it can carry Green Bay deep into December.
