Liverpool 0-3 Nottingham Forest: Match Review
Liverpool suffered six defeats in seven losses in the Premier League after a 3-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest.
Don Hutchison has said there are far too many red flags in regards to Liverpool’s performances this season.
The Reds’ Premier League title defence is over after 12 games. A 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest was their fifth league defeat in six matches. Liverpool started brightly against Forest but crumpled after Murillo netted their visitors’ first chance at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s side sit 12th in the Premier League table, with the head coach coming under pressure to turn things around despite winning the English championship in hid maiden campaign.
And Hutchison said there were too many players that did not deliver against Forest. And the former Liverpool midfielder did not like the reaction of Ibrahima Konate when he was substituted during the second half.
Speaking on ESPN, Hutchison said: “Liverpool fans wouldn't have liked the defeat against Man Utd but they played well in that game, hit the post three times and created six or seven good opportunities. [Against Forest] in the last 20 or 30 minutes they never even looked like scoring. Two of the back four, Konate was all over the place and what I didn't like, which has gone viral on social media, him laughing as he got substituted. That was an awful look because he's not playing well.
“Kerkez, the shirt looks a bit heavy and big for him. Robo came on, he's had a heavy week but that was a naive and rookie error showing Omari Hutchinson inside. Robo has got to have more about him to show him on the outside. The second goal was weak from Mac Allister, Gakpo has got to track his man.
“If you pause that game on 30 minutes and say Liverpool lose that game 3-0, you'd say it's impossible because they played quite well. There are too many red flags; they concede too many goals from set-plays and keep going behind. There are loads of red flags to put Arne Slot under a lot of pressure.”
