Manchester United produced their worst league display of the season as they lost 1-0 to 10-man Everton at Old Trafford on Monday night. The Reds started slowly but were handed a boost when Idrissa Gueye was sent off after clashing with teammate Michael Keane.

United went behind just before the half hour mark. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall went on a weaving run before firing into the top corner of Senne Lammens' goal.

In the second half, United attempted to force the issue but did not do nearly enough to break down the resolute 10 men. Joshua Zirkzee had two headers saved by Jordan Pickford but Everton were good value for their win.

MEN Sport has taken a look at some of the moments you may have missed from the game.

Amad points out fight

The big talking point was the fight between the two Everton teammates which saw Gueye sent off. While the fight will be replayed for years to come, what might be cut out is what Amad did.

Replays showed the Ivorian pointing to what was brewing which perhaps caught the referee's attention. Zirkzee and Bryan Mbeumo, who were in close proximity, were none the wiser to what was happening as they discussed tactics while the drama unfolded behind them.

Everton analysts shout

Just before Dewsbury-Hall's goal, Everton's analysts called exactly what he should do. They shouted 'hit it' - and that's exactly what the former Chelsea man did.

Leny Yoro played his part in that goal by touching into his path. But from an Everton perspective it was a wonder goal.

Zirkzee struggles

Up until the final 15 minutes when Zirkzee forced two good saves from Pickford, his audition to earn a place back in the team was going awfully. The feeling among the fans was clear when they jeered him ducking out of a challenge when the ball was there to be won at waist height.

If he had scored one of those headers, things may have been different but as it was the performance did little to impress.

Mainoo reaction

Another player who could have an eye on the exit door in January is Kobbie Mainoo. If Ruben Amorim wanted to test public opinion on the midfielder he got a big seal of approval.

Arguably the loudest cheer of the night from the home crowd came as Mainoo was subbed on in the second half. His performance did little to earn him a place in the starting XI on Sunday but he remains popular with the fans.
