Paul Scholes thinks Arne Slot has done something at Liverpool that’s truly ‘classless’

Liverpool’s decline since winning the 2024/25 Premier League under Arne Slot has been dramatic.

On the back of conceding three against Nottingham Forest at Anfield, the champions have now fallen to six defeats in seven in the English top flight.

Fans have started to comment on Arne Slot leaving as a result, and there has even been talk of Xabi Alonso returning to Anfield.

Liverpool have matched an unwanted record under the Dutchman as well, and Paul Scholes has now shared his thoughts on where things started to go wrong for the former Feyenoord boss.

Why Paul Scholes has called Arne Slot classless

Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, Scholes suggested the issues started at the end of last season when Slot was DJing in Ibiza before 2024/25 was over, an act the ex-Manchester United star has suggested was ‘classless’.

He said: “I think this started towards the end of last season, do you remember when they won the league? The bad form started, they went away, went to Ibiza or something.

“Honestly, Arne Slot was DJing.

“DJing in Ibiza. But that’s, that’s before the season’s done, that’s what I mean, I think that’s disrespectful that, before the season’s done, I think that’s, I think it’s classless that.”
