**_Sky Sports_ pundit Gary Neville doesn’t believe Chelsea are close to mounting a title challenge.**
The Blues are currently 2nd, six points adrift of top of the table Arsenal, but Neville feels Champions League qualification is the best they can hope for:
“They’re a good team with a good squad and should be with the investment they’ve made and I think they will finish in the top four.”
“They will get close and they’ll tease us and have us thinking are they the closest challengers but I don’t think that will emerge as the season goes on. But next weekend is a real tough test and that’s where you find out about these types of teams.”
“Chelsea will want to win the title in the next couple of years but they don’t seem close to it at this moment.”
As Neville mentions, [**Enzo Maresca**](https://chelseanews.com/blog/chelsea-injury-news-cole-palmer-6/)‘s men have a big match coming up on Sunday. They will host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
If they can secure all three points, it would certainly put the cat among the pigeons, slashing the Gunners’ lead at the top in half.
What are the odds of Chelsea winning the title this season?
-----------------------------------------------------------
The bookmakers still have pretty long odds on Maresca’s men finishing in 1st place. Most betting firms have them between 12/1 and 16/1.
Despite losing to Newcastle on Saturday and being a point behind the Blues in the table, Manchester City remain second favourites, with bookies pricing them between 11/4 and 10/3.
Following their victory in the North London derby, Arsenal are red-hot favourites to secure their first title in over 20 years. The Gunners are odds-on, with prices ranging from 5/12 to 2/5. If Chelsea can beat them this weekend, though, those odds will shift once again.
