Romano Makes Claim About "Talks" With Other Managers As Slot Faces Mounting Pressure

Liverpool have not entered “talks” with any manager about replacing Arne Slot, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said that the Dutchman retains the faith of the club’s board:

“Liverpool are NOT in talks with any other manager or considering the possibility to fire the coach. That’s the situation as of today.”

“Of course, results have to change, imminently, so in the Champions League and Premier League, especially in the Premier League, because Liverpool are really in a complicated situation.”

The Forest defeat has raised further questions about Slot’s future

While the loss to Manchester City before the international break was a disappointment, there were signs against Aston Villa and Real Madrid that the Liverpool head coach had got a handle on the situation.

However, the capitulation against Nottingham Forest has raised more doubts about the Dutchman’s ability to turn things around. 8 defeats in 11 games is a shocking run and, as Romano says, things have to change quickly.

Liverpool do have a kind run of fixtures

Looking at the Reds’ matches between now and the New Year, there is scope for a turnaround in fortunes.

They host PSV in the Champions League next up before a trip to relegation strugglers West Ham. The Merseysiders then have games against Sunderland (h), Leeds (a), Inter Milan (a), Brighton (h), Tottenham (a) and Wolves (h).

There are plenty of winnable fixtures in that run of games, but many people were saying that the Forest match should have been a straightforward three points and look how that turned out?

Slot says he has taken full responsibility for his team’s performances and he is not looking to make excuses. He now needs to turn words into actions on the pitch.
