**West Ham have reportedly taken an interest in Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa on loan, but the deal comes with numerous complications.**
Taking his career into account, Chiesa was rated as one of the greatest talents of this era in Football, but unfortunately, due to his numerous injuries picked up, including his ACL in 2022, his career has since dwindled over time and he left Juventus two seasons ago to join Liverpool for a £12 million fee.
It is worth noting that the Hammers were previously interested in Chiesa, but due to his immensely high wage asking, it was deemed unaffordable by the club.
West Ham have since reignited interest in the forward on Loan from Liverpool, but would it be a good move if we could make it happen?
I certainly don’t see how a loan move could go wrong, it would have to see an agreement between both clubs in regards to wages, seeing as the club has been on a mission to ruthlessly axe the wage bill, but his quality could certainly see him have an impact on the pitch.
However, as well as discussing the wage topic, in which he’s earning £150,000 per week according to numerous sources, I’d like to see the club add a buy option or obligation to the deal, considering we’ve been bitten once before and we’ve got to learn from our mistakes.
Given the £12 million fee Liverpool paid for the Italian international two seasons ago, you’d hope it’d be around that fee or less if we were to have a buy clause.
He’s an injury-prone forward, which is a cause for concern, but if he can be kept fit and we’re able to utilise him to the best of our ability, we could be getting a seriously top player at an affordable price.
