Everton transfer seen as ‘the right thing’ – Lack of minutes justifying sale

Bayern Munich are starting to believe that they did the right thing selling Adam Aznou to Everton, given his lack of minutes. The youngster has struggled to impose himself on Merseyside, consequently his exit isn’t a regret.

Kicker cover the full-back briefly today. They say the €9m exit may have been a smart piece of business by the German champions.

Aznou joined Everton for that figure in the summer. He pushed for the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium after being frustrated with his situation at Bayern.

The youngster had believed he was in line for more playing time under Vincent Kompany this season. Instead he spent the Club World Cup as a barely used substitute. This left him frustrated and he pushed for an exit, with Everton offering it willingly.

There was plenty of excitement about their capture of the young Moroccan. But his move to Merseyside has yet to work out. A combination of injuries and David Moyes not believing the 19-year-old is ready means Aznou is yet to play a single minute in the Premier League this season.

That’s been noticed in Germany, where Kicker say Bayern ‘did the right thing’ in letting Aznou go this summer. They ultimately ‘received a good sum’ for a player who, it appears, isn’t even ready to play for Everton, never mind a giant club like them.

October saw claims the youngster could be tempted by a La Liga move.
