Arsenal can take advantage of Bayern Munich’s “only weakness” on Wednesday, their vulnerability from set pieces.
That’s according to Lothar Matthäus. [He covers Arsenal vs Bayern for Sky Germany](https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artikel/amp/lothar-matthaeus-kolumne-ueber-fc-bayern-arsenal-und-bvb/13474842/33895) and is full of praise for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Arsenal take on Bayern on Wednesday in the latest round of Champions League fixtures. It is undoubtedly the game of the week as two of Europe’s leading sides face each other.
The Gunners are currently six points clear at the top of the Premier League, while Bayern are comfortable leaders in the Bundesliga once again. They have both also impressed in the Champions League, winning four out of four and sitting joint top of the table with Inter Milan.
Arsenal are only second on goal difference, although they are yet to concede in the competition this season. That will be put to the test against a Bayern side who have scored 14 goals to date, the joint best alongside holders Paris Saint-Germain.
The German giants are very much seen as a force to be reckoned with under Vincent Kompany. Matthäus believes there is a weakness that the Gunners in particular can take advantage of.
Bayern weakness seems perfect for Arsenal

_“Not only fans in England and Germany are looking forward to the match; it’s the highlight of the Champions League so far,”_ he said.
_“The Londoners are brimming with enthusiasm and passion. They want to become English champions for the first time since 2004 and reach the Champions League final for the first time since 2006._
_“Bayern Munich also has high ambitions. I expect them to perform similarly to their 2-1 win in Paris and try to take control from the outset. Bayern are known for their dominance, as they demonstrated against PSG, allowing very little defensively in the first half._
_“The team is well-drilled and confident in its strengths. The only weakness, which they already showed last season against Inter Milan, is conceding goals from set pieces._
_“In the Bundesliga, the team has conceded four goals from set pieces recently. That’s something coach Vincent Kompany will be working on, especially since Arsenal are very dangerous on set pieces. Bayern have physically large and experienced players; they need to approach the game with even more focus. I expect a very close match and predict a 2-2 draw.”_
