Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers did their homework and more in their meeting last Sunday at Lambeau Field against the Minnesota Vikings. The 23-6 win over Minnesota was largely a product of Green Bay’s defense that left the Vikings’ attack gasping for air.
Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy passed for just 87 yards and zero touchdowns while getting intercepted twice and sacked five times for a loss of 35 yards. He went 12-of-19 with a 17.9 quarterback rating when it was all said and done on the field.
Meanwhile, the Packers relied mostly on their ground attack on offense, choosing to play conservatively withrunning back Emauel Wilson rushing 28 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
“I’ve never called the same run so many times consecutively,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said after the contest, per the Associated Press (h/tESPN). “It was like 3 yards and a cloud of dust, but it was effective. Bottom line, I just thought the way our defense was playing, we just took the air out of the ball and said, ‘Go win it for us.’”
Jordan Love commends Green Bays’ stellar defense in Week 12 against the Vikings
Green Bay Packers safety Evan Williams (33) celebrates with teammates after intercepting a pass intended for Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (1) in the fourth quarter during their football game Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
With Green Bay’s defense clobbering the Vikings and Wilson taking care of business on the ground, Love was left with little to busy himself under center. He passed the ball just 21 times for 139 yards with zero touchdowns and no interceptions.
Green Bay figured it was the safer route to its seventh win in the 2025 NFL season.

Jordan Love says #Packers defense was so dominant today, the offense discussed on sideline how avoiding mistakes would be enough to win. Emphasis was on playing clean more than explosive. A cautious approach, but the right one.
It can be a different game plan for Green Bay’s offense in Week 13, when they take on the Detroit Lions on the road.
