Jamie Carragher Makes Bold Arsenal And Chelsea PL Title Prediction After“Big Result”Against Spurs

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has said that Arsenal are already playing like “champions” after they beat Spurs 4-1 over the weekend.

The Gunners put in a dominant display, in what was arguably their best performance of the season against their North London rivals. Leandro Trossard opened the scoring, before Eberechi Eze scored a hat-trick against the side that nearly signed him in the summer.

It was a statement win for Arsenal, who are now six points clear at the top of the table, with Chelsea currently in second place behind them. The Gunners face a trip to Stamford Bridge to play their London rivals next weekend in what is undoubtedly a Premier League six pointer.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher spoke on Sky Sports, hailing just how good Arsenal were against Spurs on Sunday. He said: “It wasn’t just three points.

“The manner of the victory, almost felt like you were watching champions. It’s very early in the season, but, they’re big favourites to go on and win the title. When a team wins the league, you always look back on big result and big performances, and that was a big one because of who it was against.”

Could Chelsea challenge Arsenal for the title?

Arsenal look unstoppable at the moment, and with Man City losing to Newcastle over the weekend, their lead extended to six points. Chelsea are now the closest to the Gunners in terms of points, and it just so happens that the two teams meet next weekend at Stamford Bridge.

If Chelsea win, they would close the gap to three, and put a lot of pressure on Mikel Arteta’s side moving forward. Carragher said that even if Chelsea finish second, it would be a great season from Enzo Maresca’s side. He said: “I think Maresca since he’s come in has done a brilliant job;

“I don’t think they’ve quite got the squad to win a league title. I think what the manager did this season, if he can make Chelsea the biggest challengers to Arsenal, that would be another great season for them.”
