Nick Sirianni isn't trembling with fear despite Eagles losing Andrew Mukuba

There are a lot of worried Philadelphia Eagles fans after the latest news on rookie second-round pick Andrew Mukuba's injury from their 24-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12.

Mukuba was injured on one of the last plays of the game when tackling Cowboys receiver George Pickens from behind after his long reception and run. After the game, the rookie was seen in a walking boot and crutches. NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared that Mukuba would undergo surgery on his fractured ankle, with no word on whether it would end his season.

Now, with Eagles fans looking for answers on what the solution will be in the secondary in Mukuba's absence, head coach Nick Sirianni added some clarity. While he didn't go into details with the media about the injury, he showed strong confidence in the secondary.

"Yeah, you guys saw the report. He'll be out for some time, for a little bit. I'll never put a timetable on a guy. We'll see how long. He'll miss a little bit of time, but we'll see how long. I think we have good options there. (Michael Carter II) being one of them. Sydney (Brown). Reed (Blankenship)'s still back there, manning everything back there. And we have confidence in some guys on the practice squad as well. This is why you need your entire roster. It's never just the 53 guys. It's the 70 guys. You never know when those guys' opportunity will come. And here we are."

Eagles fans still going to have concerns about the secondary moving forward

Brown moves into the starting lineup, which is scary after his rough second half for the Eagles after replacing the injured Blankenship. While some Eagles fans don't want to have Brown on the field, he's the only solution right now that can help the team.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman had mentioned that Carter could play safety after the team traded for him from the New York Jets. Don't be surprised if he does fill in, depending on the severity of Adoree' Jackson's concussion he suffered in the Cowboys game.

Sirianni didn't seem too concerned with Blankenship, who missed a good portion of the second half of the Cowboys game with a thigh injury. As long as Blankenship can play, Eagles fans can have some confidence that they will be okay in the secondary.
