Late in the game, Moehrig punched Jennings in the groin after Christian McCaffrey got tackled. Replay footage showed the Panthers’ safety delivering a vicious low blow, but surprisingly officials missed it.
So, a personal-level beef was already present there, and it erupted when Moehrig tried to act innocent during the handshake.

After the final whistle, Jennings hunted down Moehrig at midfield. He blasted the safety with a hard right-hand slap to the helmet, then pushed him back with his left hand before linebacker Krys Barnes took Jennings away from his teammate.
The incident led to endless chatter online. But most fans sided with Jennings, arguing his action was just another redemption and it was not out of context.
One fan wrote, “They punched jennings in the nuts.”
Another claimed, “He punched Jennings’ nuts first.”
A third added, “He deserved it. Can’t be hitting ppl in the nuts.”
A fourth remarked, “Good, after what Moehrig did.”
Kyle Shanahan backed his receiver completely, stating that Moehrig delivered a cheap shot to the groin area and expressing pride that Jennings maintained composure during the game itself. The head coach praised his student for not losing control during the game.

Jennings kept his explanation simple when addressing reporters.
“The TV is going to tell you what happened, man,” Jennings said. “I was just responding, to me, some childish behavior. That’s all it was.”
The receiver then ended his media session with a blunt shot, adding, “Have a good night. Don’t get hit in the nuts.”

Jennings later elaborated on why tensions escalated, explaining that physical play between the whistles is normal for him, given his strength advantage over defensive backs. He suggested the incident came unexpectedly despite his typically aggressive style of play.

Meanwhile, Moehrig offered a different perspective. The Panthers’ safety claimed Jennings was “talking crazy” and suggested the receiver engaged in dirty play throughout the contest.
The NFL will review game footage from multiple angles. Fans are waiting to hear word on potential discipline against both of them before Week 13.
