Odegaard present for pre-Bayern training

Martin Odegaard took part in training at London Colney today as Arsenal prepare for tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium.

The Norway international, out since October with a knee injury, was in contention for the North London derby but ultimately wasn’t included. As it turned out, he wasn’t needed, mainly because our neighbours played like a bunch of pub drunks.

His imminent return, combined with Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli making the bench at the weekend, at least begins to ease the injury worries that have hovered over the squad all season.

Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Magalhaes were not involved today, although Gabriel Jesus did train again as he continues to push towards a first-team return after January’s ACL surgery.

It is rumoured Arsenal have lined up a behind-closed-doors friendly against Manchester United on Thursday, with the Brazilian expected to get some minutes.

Mikel Arteta is set to face the press later this afternoon, where he may share further updates. It’s unlikely, but let’s see.
