Michael Olise has been linked to Liverpool on-and-off since joining becoming a world-class attacking talent at Bayern Munich.

According to German newspaper BILD, the Reds have interest in Olise as a possible successor to Mohamed Salah, even keeping the Frenchman on their shortlist a year ago.

Olise has been in sensational form since joining Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024, contributing 20 goals and 23 assists in his debut campaign and continuing that momentum this season with nine goals and 10 assists in 18 appearances.

His latest display—two goals and three assists in a dramatic 6-2 comeback victory over Freiburg—has only intensified speculation surrounding his future.

Bayern Munich have made it abundantly clear they have no intention of selling their prized asset.

Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that Olise has no release clause in his contract, which runs until 2029, and the Bundesliga giants are already planning to extend his deal until 2031.

Now Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has revealed that while Liverpool are keen on the player, the Anfield club do not have any plans to bring him to the Premier League in the near future:

“Liverpool are fond of Michael Olise and view him as a future dream target,” he reported on X.

“However, despite other reports, they are not planning an offer at this stage. He is currently not a concrete transfer target for Liverpool FC.”

“Main reasons: he does not have a release clause in his contract, FC Bayern are not open to talks, and Olise himself is not inclined to leave. Liverpool are currently focused on Antoine Semenyo.”

With an annual salary believed to be around €12 million plus lucrative bonuses, Olise’s earnings could rise even further should he commit to Bayern’s new offer.

However, it will likely not be the last time we hear about Liverpool interest in the former Crystal Palace winger.
