Michael Edwards is the mastermind behind everything good at Liverpool.
The Reds have always been astute operators in the transfer market and they showed that again this summer, even if players are taking their time to settle in.
But in the long-term, they are set up very well, with the reason for this being how well organised they are behind the scenes.

Edwards is the driving force behind this, with the CEO of Football being key in all the transfers that happen at the club, as well as overseeing Richard Hughes, who has equally done a fantastic job.
But 18 months after rejoining, he could be on the move once again, with this something that could have a huge impact on the Reds’ future.

Ajax want Michael Edwards
Edwards has built up a good reputation for being one of the best at his job, with his track record highlighting just that.
He is key to everything that happens at Liverpool, so losing him, like they have already done in the past, could prove catastrophic.
But according to Dutch outlet Het Parool, this could become a possibility as Ajax are keen to bring him over to the Netherlands.

Edwards has not publicly expressed any desire to leave, so Liverpool may feel comfortable about the situation right now, but it still remains a possibility.
Liverpool’s owners were desperate to bring him back once Jurgen Klopp left, with this decision proving to be a good one, although they will hope he sticks around for a little longer at least.
Michael Edwards might be frustrated at Liverpool’s multi-club ownership plan
One of the main reasons Edwards returned was because he wanted to expand his responsibilities beyond Anfield, with Liverpool’s multi-club ownership plan key in this.
Edwards was said to be desperate for Liverpool to join forces with other teams from around the world, with this being very much in FSG’s thought process.
But now, after failing to buy Bordeaux and Getafe, the Reds’ CEO of Football might be starting to get a little bit frustrated.
To ensure he is happy and kept around, Liverpool need to make this move happen soon, as if not, they could lose a key man that sees a downward spiral from here on in.
